PRODUCT REVIEW- Revlon's Whipped Colorstay Foundation

ok i have been so skeptical on getting this product. i wasnt sure if it was anything like the covergirl mouse foundation. and i do not like that mouse foundation for me. (i do have acne scarring that i like to cover but not look cakey) so i tried this foundation and i must say. its BY FAR my favorite druge store foundation..it beats Revlon's Airbrush foundation. this foundation is so light and easily applied. and it did last about 12 hours without any spotting or anything. i did set mine with a matte powder just to give it a little more matte to my face. i will say though, its best when you let the foundation set into your skin before applying anything like a powder or blush. i did notice there wasn't alot of color choices, but the color i got for me was pretty much by guessing. it matches me perfectly actually. i got it in the color 'nude' and i must say im just overall pleased with this product.

Foundation Review!!! Revlon's Photoready Airbrush Mouse Foundation

So I recently purchased Revlon's Photoready Airbrush Mouse Foundation in the Nude color. And I must say I love it! This is probably the first foundation that doesn't leave that 'icky' sticky feeling on my face..it does feel like nothing is on. It's so light and easily blended..and it does cover a little..i'll probably give it a medium coverage. The only complaint I would have about it is that I would like for it to cover more than it does. But this is, so far, my favorite drugstore foundation.

It is an air-tight can, and the nosel or pump does come out pretty fast, so thats something to watch for. It comes out like a bubbly mouse. But once you flatten/deflate it down it is still light and you actually see that a little does go a long way with this foundation.

Vibrant Spice Eyeshadow

Hello lovely ladies! This is my look using the Vibrant Spice Eyeshadow Quad from Avon...I absolutely LOVE this quad..I love alot of Avon's eyeshadows, they are easily blended and just look fantastic =] I will also show you what other products I used to create this look...

LETS GET STARTED

First off I used my Hard Candy eyeshadow primer and applied all over my lid area and under my eye beneath the lower lashes.

For a base shadow I used the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in 25 Bad to the Bronze color. Applying it all over the lid area. You can use a lighter base color if you'd like, this is just what I used.

Time to add some color!! Of course this is where the Vibrant Spice Quad comes in.

• First I took a small flat brush and put the 'gold sand' color in the corner of my eyes and brough it down in the corner of my lower lash line as well.
• Now take that beautiful 'shimmering copper' color and aplly it in the middle of the lid, using the other side of that flat brush. Also taking that same color and using an angled brush and line the middle of the lower lash line blending it into the gold just a little.
• Take that 'lush lavender' color and apply it on the outer corners of your eyes sorta blending it with the copper. You can also blend it in the crease as well. Apply it in the corner of your lower lash line slightly blending with that copper and extending it out past your eye just a little.
• When you are satisfied with the eyeshadow look, take a fluffy blending brush and just blend out the top of the shadow to soften the look. We dont want any harsh shadow lines.
 



For the liner I used Revlon's Colorstay Liquid Liner. Only applying it on the top lash line.

 

To complete the look, I used my Voluminous False Lashes mascara by L' Oreal of course!

Applying it on the top and bottom lashes.

Brown Smokey'ish Eye

My favorite look for my eyes are smokey eye..i dont get too carried away with it however. As you can see its not so dramatic so it can be for an every day look. This is my brown/gold smokey-ish eye. Hope you like =]

Bring Out The Color Of Your Eyes Using Eyeshadow

Hey Ladies! So I would like to focus on highlighting the color of your eyes with certain eyeshadows. Many women want to highlight the color of their eyes and just don't know how to do it. The truth is that many times finding the right shade of makeup can make all of the difference. Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes, or hazel eyes, they all have makeup styles that can make those eyes really "pop" out.

Blue Eyes

If you have blue eyes there are several shadow shades that will work for you. Shades in the brown, rose and violet families work best generally. They will contrast with the cool tone of your blue eyes and make them stand out. It is also important to use shades that are darker in tone than that of your natural eye color. Try rich browns, golds, warm taupes, soft peaches, lavender, lilac and fuchsia. A common mistake is using blue shadow that is the same or very close to the natural eye color. This can make your eyes appear dull. To get a smoky effect mix your darker shadow with a little bit of black.

For eyeliner, go with a brown shade. Traditional black eyeliner will take away from your eyes. A dark or medium brown eyeliner will work better for blue eyes. Also, you might choose to use a darker shade of eye shadow as your liner instead of a liquid or pencil liner. This will give you a more "smudged" look. For mascara, use brown or brown/black mascara. The brown shade will open and brighten your eyes without drawing attention away from your beautiful color. If you can get away with black mascara, use it sparingly.

Green Eyes

Violet and plum eye shadow shades are best for green eyes. Warmer colors like deep purples, mauves, lilacs, and medium pinks are good choices. Browns will also look nice with green eyes. Try bronzes, golds, coppers, deep greens, peaches and apricots. Avoid cooler colors like silvers, blues, whites and pastels. These can give you a washed out look. Use lighter colors to highlight the brow bone (peach, taupe, and apricot). Darker shades should go on the crease of the eye (deep brown, deep purple, deep green) and medium shades are to be applied to the eyelid (copper, lilac, mauve). Softly blend the colors together to create a finished and smoky look.

For eyeliner, try a dark brown shade. Black eyeliner will be too harsh. For special occasions you could get a little fancy with gold or bronze liner. Your mascara should be brownish black also. Use black mascara sparingly.

Brown Eyes

Brown eyes are the easiest to compliment! This eye color can get away with all of those bright colors without look tacky. You can go with greens, golds, browns, pinks, blues, grays and purples. Earthy colors look great with brown eyes. Any shade of blue is going to look best with brown eyes. Cooler tones contrast well and make the eyes stand out. Choose a shade lighter than your eye color for a more natural and clean look. If you choose a shade dark you will appear more dramatic and sexy.

Black eyeliner will work nicely with brown eyes. It will give you a dramatic look and really make the eyes pop. Choose a darker liner in a shade that matches your eye shadow for a more subtle look. For example, a navy liner will compliment blue eye shadows. To make the eyes really stand out you can use a white liner on the inside of your bottom lid and a darker shade on the top lid. This can give you an "ethereal" look. This trick will also make small eyes appear bigger. Use some black mascara to open and brighten the eyes while highlighting their warm and rich tone

Hazel

Shades of pale pink, light purple and sheer blush look great with hazel eyes. Pair pink with purple shades and show off your girly side. Apply a deep, dark shade to your crease. Use a slightly upward and outward motion. Use some shimmer on your lids for an "everyday" appearance. This will make your whole look glow. Hazel eyes stand out with deep greens, lavenders and shades with soft yellow undertones. To bring out the gold in your eyes, choose golden based eye shadows. To bring out the green specks in your eyes choose a brighter green shade like emerald and apply in three different intensities. To bring out the blue specks in your eyes go with purple in three different shades. To highlight the brown base of your hazel eyes stick with natural shades of brown. This will give you that "doe-like" appearance.

For a stunning look pair all of these eye shadow choices with black eyeliner and mascara. To bring out the green and blue specks with a more natural look, go with soft natural shades paired with dark green or blue liner and black mascara

Working With Eye Shape and Makeup: Whats Your Eye Shape?

So we all have different eye shapes, down below I have illustrated how to apply makeup with different eye shapes. I hope this chart will help!!

Wide Set/Close Set Eyes

Makeup for wide set eyes :

1. Make the space between the eyes smaller by applying a dark eyeshadow in the inner corner.
2. Apply a lighter eyeshadow to the outer two-thirds of the eyelid from the lashes to the brow bone.
3. Use an eyeliner to draw a very thin line from inner to outer corners on both upper and lower water lines.
4. Pencil the eyebrows a little closer to the nose, but don't extend the eyebrows out at the ends.

Makeup for close set eyes :

1. Apply a light shade from the inner corner to the middle of eyelid from the lashes to the brow line.
2. Apply a little highlighter in the inner corner of the eye.
3. Extend the medium-toned eyeshadow to the outer corner of the eye from the lashes to the brow bone.
4. Use the most intensive color of eye shadow in the outer corner.
5. Brush a little highlighter onto the brow bone
6. Use eyeliner to line upper and lower water lines keeping color intense in the outer corners of the eyes.
7. Apply mascara on the top and bottom lashes with some extra coats on the outer corners for length.
8. Extend the length of brows out at the ends with a brow pencil

Deep Set Eyes

The eye is deep into the socket, with a small movile lid.

Apply light colours on the mobile lid, with a

deeper colour on and just above the socket line,

blending up and out.

Hooded Eyes

A fold of skin hangs over the socket line.

This happens with age. Use matte colours

 in medium to dark and keep eye make up simple.

Almond Eyes

Considered to have ''perfect'' proportions,

 any eye technique will work.

Down Turned Eyes

The focus for this eye shape, is to shade ''up and out''.

Apply liner close to the upper lash line and blend shadow

 along the socket line in the outer 2/3 of the eyes. Curling

lashes and applying mascara can also help ''lift'' the eyes.

Protruding Eyes

This eye shade has a bulge from the sock to the lash

and can be difficult to work with. The best way to

shade this eye is to use medium to dark matte

colours as illustrated.



5 Makeup Essentials I Can't Live Without

1.) Foundation: I cannot live without my foundation...right now I have been using Maybelline Age Rewind. No, I don't need to rewind my age; however, I love that this product has Goji Berry+Collagen in it, its SPF 18 (which is amazing), and it covers really well!! I use 120 creamy ivory. One downside is that the spongy applicator that is attached can get really icky easily and sometimes it feels streaky when I'm applying, but it blends very well.

2.) Powder: I love using a pressed powder to set on my foundation. To me foundation can feel a little ''sticky'', so for me using a pressed powder helps reduce that ''stickiness'' and also gives my face a softer look. Of course we all know this already...so moving on...I am recently using the REVLON Colorstay in light/medium. I do like this powder, it does seem to cover and set well with my foundation. A downside is that it smells a little odd..but other than that I'm liking it so far. =]

3.) Eyeliner: I can go without eyeliner on some days, but i don't like to. I just feel ''naked'' without it. I have been using the L'OREAL Voluminous Eyeliner marker in black. I am absolutely loving this eyeliner. You can create a bold look or soften it up and create a thinner look. The tip of this eyeliner is at an angled so that you can go thick or thin. I highly recommend this eyeliner. At first, i had a little trouble using it, but after a little practice, it's easy to use and it stays on long.

4.) Mascara: OK so I do have long eyelashes, but they aren't too thick..so i am always using mascara. Even if i don't wear eyeliner. I have been using the L'OREAL False Lashes Mascara. I love this mascara, however it doesn't make my lashes as thick as i would like. I use it in blackest. This product really lengthens your eyelashes. It is a great product, but i think I'll be trying another mascara once i run out of this one.

5.) Lipstick: I have never been into lipstick as much as i have been recently. Right now i am LOVING the Maybelline Baby Lips lip butter/balm. This lip balm is amazing. It feels so smooth on your lips and leaves them hydrated. I'm always reapplying all day long..I just love it. I use the Pink Punch and the Peach Kiss. I sometimes will use the Pink Punch color first then put a coat of Peach Kiss. It helps make more of a pink/nude color on my lips.
